Monday night saw Fry’s open the annual Fry Club Cup on Pitch 1 versus Beaufort FC. Last season’s top scorer Matt Brown picked up where he left off by giving Frys the lead. Justin Skinner who showed good promise when he came into the 1st team towards the end of last season then made it 2-0. As the second half went on, Beaufort got themselves back in the game and an equaliser inside the last 10 minutes saw the game go to penalties.
Goalkeeper Chris Dark was the hero for Fry’s making three penalty saves. Fry’s progress to the next round and will face Clifton St Vincents on Monday 21st July.

Tuesday night saw Fry’s make the short trip to neighbours Keynsham Town. A strong home side faced Fry’s who shuffled the pack given their first fixture just 24 hours earlier. A squad of 18 players travelled and all were used. Fry’s fell behind in the first minute only for Matt Brown and Joel Harvey to give Fry’s a 2-1 lead which lasted until around the 75th minute mark. A late rally from the home side saw them turn the game on its head and resulted in a full time score of Keynsham Town 4 – Fry Club 2. A good run out for all 18 players though and very promising performances from youngsters George Brown and Joel Harvey.
