Our Preseason action finally got underway at the third time of asking, in glorious sunshine at Ash Lane. It was a brilliant start to our season playing a team who came 4th in their division last season, scoring goals for fun in the process. We showed great desire and determination from start to finish - bursting forward to support teammates on the break, and driving back to help out when we lost the ball. Big shout out to Arthur who played his heart out for half a game despite feeling less than 100% - he gave everything he could for the team today, hope he feels better soon!

James was our hattrick hero today, scoring three very different goals. The first came from a ball in behind on the left, great skill and cross from Xavie, and finishing first time - just as we’ve worked on in training. The second came from strength and good reactions in front of goal to capitalise on a defensive mistake. The third was a superb turn on halfway from Albie’s pass, then great pace to finish one on one with the keeper. James deserved the Man of the Match award today - but the opposition coach also recognised William and Xavie for their performances too.

Special mention also to Jack H playing his first full game for us. Jack put his hand up to go in goal and gave a very assured performance, showing great decision making in distribution from the back and pulling off some good saves too.

As mentioned at the end of the match, a lot to be proud of from this performance, and I hope everyone takes confidence into our first League game next week!
