A goal just before the break saw Rob Hunter experience his first defeat as manager.

It was a tough physical battle with Town given little time on the ball and dangerman Callum Ward in particular receiving a lot of attention from defenders. For much of the first half Town had most of the ball, but struggled to really test the Huntington keeper. Tim Robertson half-volleyed wide 7 mins in and the same player put in an excellent delivery on 26 mins which Ward and Simon Poole couldn't get any decent contact on. The best chance fell to Ward on 35 mins who broke clear of the defence and forced a good stop from the outcoming keeper.

Pressure from Rovers towards half time however led to what would be the winning goal on 39 mins. A corner from the right wasn't dealt with by the defence, allowing Josh Whaite to scramble into the net.

The second half saw a number of substitutes made for both sides, disrupting the momentum somewhat. Two intriguing changes made for Garforth were the introduction of Craig Tonkinson and his brother Jamie. They linked up well around the hour mark for Jamie to be denied by a good challenge on the edge of the area.

On 68 mins Huntington's number 14 went close with a 25 yard free-kick which went just wide, and only a minute later Sam Leach had the ball in the net after smashing home a delivery from wide, but was ruled offside. Jake Rose had a good effort deflected wide on 70 mins, and twelve mins from time the Rovers keeper parried a Robertson strike, but a defender was there to clear. Sadly a deserved equaliser wouldn't come and the home side were able to see out victory against higher-placed opponents.

A decent run-out for both teams; from a Garforth perspective some promising displays from new signings Jake Rose and Jack McMurrough, and triallist Callum Ward (again), and familiar face Tim Robertson.
