Miners bring the season to a close with a visit to Sheerien Park (kick-off 3pm)....

After last weekend's narrow defeat at league champions Worksop, Rob Hunter's side aim to finish what feels like a long season with a first away victory in nine attempts. We go up against 17th place hosts Athersley who've suffered six defeats in the last seven, although like ourselves, have done enough to stay in the division for another season. After our 1-0 win on Cedar Ridge on 18th August, The Miners seek to complete the double over The Penguins and secure 14th place ahead of Thackley and Albion Sports.

In terms of fixtures, a visit to this venue sees us finish the 2018-19 campaign the same way we did the last. In this meeting last season on 3rd May however the circumstances couldn't have been worse for Garforth who, due to the sheer number of weather-related postponements in the weeks beforehand, were forced to play four away games in six days. Hit by injuries and unavailability, a Town side unable to name any substitutes found themselves 6-1 down at half time. Things got worse when midfielder Matt Robertshaw fell ill and had to leave the field shortly after, but thankfully there were no further goals.

Join us if you can, hope to see you there. Up the Miners!
