Garswood Stags make it three league game wins in a row in the NWML Entry Division.

The Garswood Stags are celebrating their third league game win in a row following a fifteen tries thriller at home on 3rd May against Burtonwood Bridge A. With The Stags going over eight times and Burtonwood seven it all made for an exciting afternoon of rugby league football. Burtonwood took the lead after just seven minutes, but only three minutes later The Stags number 8 Jonni Logan went over and in what was the first of seven successful conversions out of seven for The Stags Captain, number 5, Daniel Chisnall he took the score line to The Stags 6, Burtonwood 4. Josh Witham for Burtonwood took the score to 10 - 8 after fifteen minutes of play but it wasn't too long before The Stags hit back when number 9, Andy Crompton scored his first try of the season. Following two more tries by Burtonwood's number 8 Richard Sheperd and two great tries in a row for The Stags number 10, Oliver Sweeney the half time score line stood at Garswood 24, Burtonwood 20.
The Stags started off the second half with a bang following tries in the first ten minutes by The Stags number 1, Jay Cook, and number 7, Craig Johnson (pictured) The Stags lead 36 - 20. Further tries by Burtonwood's Sheperd and Johnson's second of the afternoon for The Stags took the score line to 42 - 38 before in the very last minute Cook went over again for The Stags bringing the final score to Garswood Stags 46, Burtonwood Bridge A 38. Burtonwood's man of the match was Richard Sheperd, whilst the players man of the match for The Garswood Stags was awarded to number 10, Oliver Sweeney.
Commenting on the game afterwards, Garswood Stags Chairman Mark Ward said "The team played really well again and we're starting to see a great bond between the players which gels well on the pitch. A close game which we deserved to win but well done to all of the players from both teams".
