Gateshead Storm are pleased to see Mark McCallan Complete is Level 2 Rugby League Coaching Badge.

Getting Players back coaching at the club is massive and it's great to see the kids taking notice of them.
- Rob Jones Junior Chair

Mark has been with Storm from the age of 13 and through is time with us as progressed into the Newcastle Thunder u19s team where he plays a big part for the team.

Through his rugby, Mark started to come along to sessions when he had to do work experience for his college course so he came back to storm and started to work with the u8s to where he as shown great enthusiasm for the coaching side.

When asked why he wanted to get involved his response was " I got involved in Gateshead as I needed to volunteer for my course at college then after the first few sessions I started to really enjoy it and enjoyed helping out at my community club. Then a few weeks later a level 2 course was getting put on so i thought i would do it as it would help me as i was going to continue to volunteer at Gateshead Storm.

Rob Jones Junior Chair had this to say on Mark “To see storm players coming back and passing on their skills to the new lot of players is great for us as a club but also mark as a person he is so committed to the coaching and this can be seen in the way the children respond to him.”

Gateshead Storm are always on the look out for new coach's so any one who thinks they would like to Join Mark and the team please get in touch with Rob Jones on 07984927529.
