Gateshead Storm Head Coach Chris Parker takes a strong squad down to face the British Army Regiment, The Royal Engineers who are conducting a pre-season training camp at Ripon and are assembling a large squad in preparation for the Lawson Cup which starts a week later.
Storm fans will get their first look at new Half Back Richard Moody and a return from a hamstring injury sees Dan Mole included in the squad.
Parker is without centre Paul Parkinson and fullback Paul Seager for the next few months as they both prepare for their wedding days.
Winger Jonathan Ward, Prop Dom Mewes, Utility Forward Paul Callahan and winger Aiden McDermott are all unavailable due to Rugby Union commitments while Fullback Graeme Neighbour, Prop Ian Ball, Playmaker Neil Emmerson and Second Row Jamie Diggle are all unavailable.
Parker himself has set a target of Sunderland on the 4th of May, as a date for his return to playing action. The Prop Forward tore his Pectoral away from the bone in last season’s North East Grand Final and underwent surgery to repair the injury.
