Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Defeated Transport Sports Club by 159 Runs to Win the New Building Society Trophy For Third Time Running.

Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) defeated Transport Sports Club by 159 runs to win the New Building Society Trophy – 40-overs 2nd Division Competition 2014-15 on Saturday, 11th April 2015 at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground, to make it a THREE-PEAT. GCC won the trophy on the two previous occasions when the competition was played, in 2012 and 2013.

Batting first GCC posted a challenging total of 267 runs for 6 wickets. Ellon Fernandes led the way with 72 runs, Martin Pestano Belle made 64 and Gavin Singh made 36. Bowling for Transport; Oslyn Barton took 3 wickets for 48 runs and Kevin Ross 2 for 43.

In reply Transport could only muster 108 runs all out. Bevaughn Nandan top scored with 19. Bowling for GCC; Gavin Lord took 3 wickets for 19 runs, Ronald Ali Mohamed took 3 for 13 and Deonarine Seogobin took 3 wickets for 24 runs.

Ellon Fernandes was named Man-of-The-Match.
