NEW BUILDING SOCIETY TROPHY - GCA 2ND DIVISION COMPETITON 2015 LAUNCHED AND DUE TO START THIS WEEKEND.

The New Building Society is sponsoring this competition for the fourth time. This is a sponsorship that has provided opportunities for the players in Georgetown to showcase their talent and hone their skills. These opportunities have led to a number of players going on to greater heights in the cricketing realm.

This year, 2015, saw some twelve young cricketers that would have played in the New Building Society Trophy Competition, during the last three years; twelve young men that benefitted from the opportunities NBS sponsorship provided for them to display their skills and refine their game, this year saw them representing Guyana in the various youth teams
Those players are:

At Under-15 - Ashmead Nedd, Alphius Bookie, Sachin Singh, Qumar Turrington and Robin Williams.

At Under-17 – Ashmead Nedd (again), Timothy McLmont, Raymond Perez and Sagar Hetheramani.

At Under-19 - Sherfane Rutherford, Tevin Imlach, Travis Persaud and Renaldo Renee.

Tevin Imlach has been called to join the West Indies Under-19 training squad for the Youth World Cup in 2016.

GCA President, Roger Harper thanked the Chairman, Directors, Management and Staff of the New Building Society for their continued efforts in supporting GCA's players and in particular our youths, the grassroots of our sport.

He also thanked thank them for sponsoring this competition for the fourth time and very importantly, for partnering with the Georgetown Cricket Association once again. President Harper wished the entire NBS family every success in the future.

The competition is scheduled to get on the way on Saturday 22nd August.
