An opening day defeat for Geddington 1st Team in their first match in the Northamptonshire Cricket League Premier Division away at Old Northamptonians at Northampton School For Boys.
Old Northamptonians batted first and were on 27-4 after early wickets for Jamie Kay (3-28) and Kyle Morrison (2-65) for Geddington, but then a 99 run partnership between James Mellor and Daniel Harris for the 5th wicket got the innings back on track for the home side. Both Mellor (67) and Harris (75) scored half-centuries for the hosts and then late runs from George Arblaster (23) got the home side to 211-6 off their 55 overs.
In reply, Morrison (25) was the only batsman to past the twenties mark for Geddington as they were All Out for 127 in 40.2 overs. Rob White (4-36) was the pick of the Old Northamptonians bowlers with four wickets, there was also three for Aiden Fowkes (3-34) and two for Tom Webb (2-13) as the home side won by 84 runs.
