Geddington 1st Team had their first defeat of the season by 6 wickets at home to Rushton 1st Team in the Northants Cricket League Premier Division match on Saturday.
Geddington batted first and were All Out for 127 in 37.3 overs, George Parker (6-31) was the pick of the Rushton bowlers with six wickets, Ben Parker (3-34) also took three wickets for the visitors and there was also a wicket for Jake Higginbotham (1-31). Jack Thurman (40) top-scored with the bat for the hosts, Tiaan Raubenheimer (19), Charlie Gingell (16) and Brando Biddle (10) were the only other batsman to reach double figures for the home side.
In reply, half-centuries from Andrew Reynoldson (51*) and Ben Mansell (50) guided Rushton to their winning target in the 22nd over, Mansell and Reynoldson put on 92 for the 3rd wicket partnership after being 7-2 early on. Raubenheimer (1-13), Luke Cummins (1-22) and Jamie Kay (1-31) all took a wicket each with the ball for Geddington and there was also run-out from Kay.
