Geddington 1st Team were defeated by 23 runs against Horton House 1st Team at Geddington Cricket Club on Saturday, but Geddington 1st XI confirmed their place in next season's top division of the Northants Cricket League despite their defeat.
Ewan Cox (113 off 138 balls) top-scored with a century in an innings which included 14 fours and 1 six for Horton House in their 228-9 off their 50 overs, Andrew Neate (36), William Knibbs (25) and Alex Mills (22) were also in the runs for the visitors, Cox and Neate put on 71 for the 3rd wicket partnership. Tiaan Raubenheimer (3-72) took three wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also two wickets each for Ned Wilson (2-27) and Jamie Kay (2-41) for the home side.
In reply, Geddington were All Out for 205 in 46 overs, Charlie Gingell (46) top-scored with the bat for the home side, Amit Dhadwal (44) and Luke Cummins (31) were also in the runs. Mark Wolstenholme (4-47) took four wickets with the ball for Horton House, Neate (2-31) and Knibbs (2-59) both also took two wickets each for the visitors.
