Geddington 1st Team were defeated by 9 wickets against Peterborough Town 1st Team in the Northants Cricket League Premier Division match at Peterborough Town Cricket Club on Saturday.
Lewis Bruce (100* off 82 balls) top-scored with an unbeaten century for Peterborough Town as they reached their victory target in the 34th over with the loss of just 1 wicket, Chris Milner (62) and Rob Sayer (52* off 29 balls) both made half-centuries with the bat for the home side, Milner and Bruce put on 134 for the 1st wicket partnership, before Bruce and Sayer put on an unbeaten 88 for the 2nd wicket partnership for the hosts. Ricardo Vasconcelos (1-23) was the only wicket-taker with the ball for Geddington.
Earlier, Geddington batted first and made 219-9 off their 50 overs, Vasconcelos (94) in an innings which included 8 fours and 3 sixes top-scored with a half-century, Andrew Reynoldson (42) was also in the runs with the bat, Vasconcelos and Reynoldson put on 115 for the 3rd wicket partnership. Mark Edwards (5-61) was the pick of the Peterborough Town bowlers with five wickets, Bruce and R Sayer both took a wicket each with the ball for the home side.
