Geddington 1st XI moved up into 3rd place in the Northamptonshire Cricket League Premier Division table, with a Winning Draw against Brixworth 1st XI at Brixworth Cricket Club on Saturday.
Geddington batted first and made 228-9 off their 50 overs, Bradley Armer (64) top-scored with a half-century for the visitors, there was also contributions with the bat from Andrew Reynoldson (33), Benedict Harvey (26) and Adil Arif (23), with Armer and Reynoldson putting on 62 for the 3rd wicket partnership, the away side were 197-9, before Chris Murdoch (14*) and James Gaul (13*) putting on an unbeaten 31 partnership for the 10th wicket, to get the total up to 228 from their allotted overs. Harry Bailey (13-0-67-7) took seven wickets with the ball for Brixworth, there was also a wicket for George Napier (1-45) for the home side.
In reply, Brixworth finished on 179-8 off their 50 overs, Fred Newborough (47*), Harry Gouldstone (46) and Muhammed Qureshi (36 off 34 balls) were the main run-scorers with the bat for the home side, Newborough and Qureshi put on 68 for the 5th wicket partnership, the highest partnership of the innings for the hosts. Arif (14-4-42-3) took three wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also two wickets each for Gaul (14-3-37-2) and George Parker (14-2-54-2) for the visitors, and there was also a wicket for Chris Murdoch (1-45).
