Geddington 2nd Team got their league season off to a good start with a 4 wicket win against Podington 1st Team at Podington Cricket Club on Saturday.
Podington batted first and were All Out for 206 in 49 overs, Tom Garlick (33) top-scored with the bat for the home side, James Nimmo (27*) and Charlie Saxby (21) were also in the runs, Nimmo and Saxby both put on 61 for the 10th wicket partnership after being 145-9. Cameron Braans (3-20) took three wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also two wickets each for Jack Connelly (2-16) and Colin Judd (2-24) for the visitors, and there was also one each for Ben York (1-20), Lee Smith (1-20) and Sam Smith (1-25).
In reply, Geddington reached their winning target with 5.1 overs to spare and 4 wickets in hand, Ben York (64) top-scored with a half-century for the visitors, Lee Sutherland (40) and Harry Bolton (28) were also in the runs with the bat. Ian Hart (2-30) and John Humphreys (2-38) both took two wickets each with the ball for Podington, there was also a wicket each for Nimmo (1-22) and Liam Souster (1-38) for the home side.
