Defeat by 5 wickets for Geddington 2nd XI against Rushden & Higham Town 2nd XI, in the Northamptonshire Cricket League Division 3 match at Rushden Town Cricket Club on Saturday.
Geddington batted first and made 115-7 off their 40 overs, Lee Sutherland (40) top-scored for the visitors, Mark Pearson (16) and Sam Smith (15*) were the other main run-scorers with the bat. William Liptrot (2-23) took two wickets with the ball for Rushden & Higham Town, there was also a wicket each for Toby Webbley (1-11), James Rawlins (1-14), Anthony Shepherdson (1-16), Roy Eady (1-20) and Tim Shepherdson (1-23) for the home side.
In reply, an unbeaten half-century from Matt Ford (55*) guided Rushden & Higham Town to their victory target of 116, with the loss of 5 wickets in the 29th over, James Walker (18) was the other main run-scorer with the bat for the home side. Tiaan Raubenheimer (7.3-2-15-2) took two wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also a wicket each for Lee Smith (8-3-16-1) and Colin Judd (1-23) for the visitors, the other wicket to fall was a Run-out in the field from Ned Wilson.
