A brilliant century with the bat from Chris Harrison guided Geddington 2nd XI to a 3 wickets victory, against Podington 1st XI at Podington Cricket Club on Saturday.
Harrison top-scored with an impressive 110 off 120 balls, in an innings which included 19 fours and 2 sixes, guided Geddington to victory with 3 wickets and 25 balls to spare, Lee Sutherland (41 off 40 balls) and Ned Wilson (21) were the other main run-scorers with the bat for the visitors, Harrison and Sutherland put on 76 for the 4th wicket partnership, after being 96-3 early on in their innings. John Humphreys (3-60) took three wickets with the ball for Podington, there was also two wickets for Ian Hart (2-23), and one each for Jonathan Hart (1-26) and Alexander Chalcraft (1-68) for the home side.
Earlier, Podington batted first and made 215-8 off their 45 overs, Joshua Ozier (90) and Humphreys (58) both made half-centuries with the bat for the home side, Ozier and Humphreys put on 112 for the 2nd wicket partnership, after losing an early wicket, Jamie Burrows (22) was also in the runs. Tiaan Raubenheimer (8-0-30-3) took three wickets with the ball for Geddington, Stanley Kirk (2-22) and Jamie Kay (2-44) both took two wickets each, there was also a wicket for Lee Smith (1-36) for the visitors.
