Brando Biddle was the star with bat and ball for Geddington 3rd XI as they reached the Northamptonshire Cricket League Division 8 KO Cup Final, after victory by 81 runs against Haddon 2nd XI in the Semi-Final at East Haddon Cricket Club on Saturday.
Geddington batted first and made 187-7 off their 40 overs, Biddle (55) top-scored with a half-century, Harry Bolton (42) was the other main run-scorer, as both Biddle and Bolton put on 87 for the 3rd wicket partnership, after being 20-2 early on in their innings, there was also contributions with the bat from Mark Pearson (20*), George York (19*) and David Goodjohn (17) for the visitors. Jon Clough (8-1-26-3) was the pick of the Haddon bowlers with three wickets, Ian Hardwick (2-29) took two wickets, there was also a wicket each for Jim Houghton (1-24) and Adam Parton (1-35) for the home side.
In reply, Haddon were All Out for 106 in 30.4 overs, Biddle (8-3-16-3) and Ben McDade (3-22) both took three wickets each with the ball for Geddington, Bolton (2-19) took two wickets, there was also a wicket each for Archie Colwill (1-10) and M Pearson (1-24) for the visitors. William Brinkman (32) top-scored with the bat for the home side, Houghton (18) and Karl Rolfe (16*) were the other main run-scorers for the hosts.
Geddington 3rd XI will now play Long Buckby 2nd XI at home, in the Northamptonshire Cricket League Division 8 KO Cup Final at Geddington Cricket Club, this coming Saturday 18th September 2021 with a 12:00noon Start.
