Geddington 3rd XI made a great start to their season, with a 7 wickets victory against Podington 2nd XI, with 14 balls to spare at Podington Cricket Club on Saturday.
Geddington chased their victory target of 135, with the loss of 3 wickets in the 38th over, Mark Pearson (41*) top-scored with an unbeaten knock with the bat, Brando Biddle (34), Zachary Byers (24), Brooklyn Biddle (10*) all made contributions with the bat, with Brando Biddle & M Pearson putting on 55 for the 3rd wicket partnership, the highest wicket partnership of the innings. Paul Davey (8-1-11-1), Sam Sturley (1-24) and Tom Hart (1-34) all took a wicket each with the ball for Podington.
Earlier, Alan Coleman (51) top-scored with a half-century for Podington in their 134-5 off their 40 overs, Gary Fowler (29) and T Hart (17) were the other main run-scorers in the home side innings.
