The Northamptonshire Cricket League Division 6 match between Mears Ashby 1st XI and Geddington 3rd XI, ended in abandonment after rain meant no more play was possible at Mears Ashby Cricket Club on Saturday.
Geddington were 11-1 off 6.1 overs, chasing 253 to win, when the heavens opened and no more play was possible, with Jon Hill (1-6) taking the only wicket to fall for Mears Ashby. Ben Templeman (1*) and Brando Biddle (5*) were the two batsman that finished unbeaten for the visitors.
Earlier, Billy Druce (71) and Lewis Coles (57) both made half-centuries for Mears Ashby in their 252-6 off their 40 overs, there was also contributions with the bat from Stephen Thompson (36* off 26 balls) and Michael Pennington (35 off 26 balls) for the home side. Harry Spence (2-36) and Stanley Kirk (2-56) both took two wickets each with the ball for Geddington, there was also a wicket each for Brando Biddle (1-34) and Templeman (1-45) for the visitors.
