St Andrew FC 2 - 2 Gedling MWFC

The Miners were fresh from victory in midweek and began on the front foot and on 4 minutes the first chance came, Ross McCaughey whipped in a great corner which found the head of Josh Stevenson but he could only power his header over from 6 yards out.
Just 2 minutes later McCaughey had a chance of his own after he did well to beat his man, he could only fire his right footed effort straight at the hosts keeper from 10 yards.
However, on 9 minutes the hosts had the ball in the net, after a driving run from the Drews midfielder he hit a shot that Louis Richardson parried into the path of Grantas Gricius who tapped the ball home but he was deemed to be offside and the score remained 0-0.
On 21 minutes the visitors were awarded a penalty, after some great hold up play by Ruben Wiggins-Thomas he was wrestled to the ground leading to the ref pointing to the spot, Romello Nangle stepped up and placed his effort low into the bottom left corner to give the miners a 1-0 lead.
15 minutes later Nangle won another penalty after he reacted first to a loose ball he was wiped out and the visitors were awarded another penalty, Nangle stepped up again and he scored again to double the miners’ lead.
This only lasted 5 minutes as St Andrews pulled one back, an out swinging corner found the head of Gricius who rose above his marker to power his header past Richardson. Barley 2 minutes later Gricius scored again, after Dean Gent failed to deal with a long ball the Drews number 9 pinched the ball and rolled it past Richardson to see the scores level heading into the interval.
On 50 minutes Jack Jepson had 2 glorious chances to restore Gedling's lead after a cutback from Wiggins-Thomas he miscued his effort but Courtney Hastings picked up the scraps and crossed it back in to Jepson who could not get the ball out of his feet and the hosts cleared their lines.
The 2nd half was very tight with the best chance falling to Nangle on 68 minutes, He beat 2 men but could only curl his effort straight at the keeper from 10 yards out and that was as good as it got for the visitors who went through the motions in a very tight 2nd half to walk away with a point.
