Gedling MWFC 0-1 Saffron Dynamo FC

Looking to improve on a dismal outing at Bourne Gedling started the game brightly and on the 4th minute had their first chance of the match. Kieran Harrison whipped in a free kick from the left touchline which found Courtney Hastings at the back post but his volley was saved by the visitor's keeper.
Gedling continued to press Saffron back into their own half and o the 16th minute the hosts again went close to breaking the deadlock, after a cross was poorly delt with by the visitor's backline the ball fell to Tyrell Shannon-Lewis who hit a sweet volley from 16 yards that was brilliantly tipped around the post.
Shannon-Lewis was proving difficult to handle for the Dynamo backline and on the 32nd minute he went close again, Debutant Ryan Tait whipped in a superb corner which the Gedling forward headed just over from 10 yards.
The final chance of the first half fell to the hosts, Hastings found some space on the edge of the box but he rushed his effort and it flew over the crossbar and the teams went in level at the break.
However just 3 minutes into the 2nd half Saffron took the lead, after Gedling gave the ball away cheaply the visitors worked the ball down the left and a pinpoint cross found the onrushing Delroy Chikuza who headed home from 4 yards out.
Just 30 seconds later Gedling were unlucky not to level the scores, Ross McCaughey played a short corner to Shannon-Lewis and after a neat 1-2 McCaughey drove an effort against the post from 18 yards leaving the keeper rooted to the spot.
On the 64th minute the woodwork once again denied the hosts, Harrison’s deep corner was brilliantly headed back across by Hastings but Ruben Wiggins-Thomas' header from 6 yards clipped the top of the crossbar and the ball fell to safety.
Shannon-Lewis had another effort on the 72nd minute well saved after some nice link up play with Jack Jepson but Dynamo remained resolute and somehow walked away with all 3 points.
