Introducing our bands
The first band is Project 17 who are a North Dorset based 4 piece Pop-Rock Covers Band. The band was founded in 2017, hence the name. With both guitarists Steve and Jono being in a previous band together, they were on the search for a lead singer and a drummer, that is were they found Rachael and Lee, both of whom this is their first time in a band and playing live music.
A few years down the line, Project 17 are now an established local band with a great following, playing many gigs over Dorset & Somerset. They play a range of music from the 60s all the way through to some of the latests chart topping hits, covering songs like Johnny B. Good, My Lips Are Sealed, to Uptown Funk and Paradise.
Looking forward to hearing you play.
Our second band is Bluestone. They are an occasional band of mature and experienced musicians drawn locally from other local working bands. The band comprises of Jon on drums, Mike on bass, Rich playing rhythm acoustic/electric guitar and vocals, all framing the supreme lead guitar musicianship of Francis. We will be playing well known rock and pop ‘standards’ from across the decades.
Welcome to the festival.
Our third band is Squashed Flies. The Squashed Flies, are a three-piece, all-girl indie rock band from around the Dorset Wiltshire area. Seventeen year olds Poppy, Jemima and Adele play a mixture of original and covers from bands such as Pixies, The Cure, Clairo, The White Stripes and Beabadoobee.

Welcome to the festival ladies.
Our fourth band is Big Brass Ska who are a 9/10 Piece Ska band formed in January 2016. Made up of 9 players from many different styles of music, rock and roll, punk, Ska and traditional Brass band.
Big Brass Ska has a full brass section which is partly where it got its name from, they gives an extra powerfull level to achieve the Fantastic SKA sound which guaranteed to get you on your feet dancing. After all Ska music is dance music!
Lots of people don’t understand what Ska is but if you said it’s Madness, The Specials, Bad Manners, The Beat etc then most people then understand what It is. Ska is a music genre which originated in Jamaica in the 50,s came before Reggae and Rock steady, it has a walking bass line with accented rhythm lines on the off beat, and is that type of music that gets your feet tapping.
Big Brass Ska generally like to play up tempo Ska music, mainly classic English Ska however they also like a bit of American Ska played in the style of Reel Big Fish plus the odd popular song ska ed up a bit and the odd reggae song from the likes of Bob Marley.
Big Brass Ska play at festivals such as the Great Dorset Steam Fair, large pubs and clubs all around the South West.
