Glapwell came out on top in their latest friendly as they saw off CMFL South Division side Belper United last Saturday.

On the 3G pitch at Shirebrook Academy, goals from Daniel Russell and Adam Barratt gave Glapwell a 2-1 victory.

The game was arranged at fairly short notice after original opponents Sherwood Colliery pulled out over a number of injury concerns over their players.

Thankfully, Belper agreed to step in to fill the fixture and although they were missing a couple of their key first teamers, the game was competitive throughout.

There were a number of fine individual performances again and a good overall team performance which will continue to build confidence going into the final two weeks of pre-season.

Next up, Glapwell travel to Staveley on Tuesday evening to face their Under-21s side in what should be another great test against an impressive young and upcoming side at Inkersall Road.
