Glapwell created a new club record on Saturday as they comfortably beat Easington United with an 8-1 victory at Hall Corner.

The result is Glapwell's 17th consecutive undefeated league game which is a new club record dating back to 1989 and the eight goal also means that they have scored more goals this campaign than any other campaign, which is an incredible achievement given only 21 league games have been played so far.
There were two changes to Glapwell's side from the victory at Retford with Mitchell Mullins and Derrick Miller both coming back into the back four with Adam Kimberley and Jake Levers both unavailable.
This looks set to be Easington's last trip to Hall Corner for a while given their change of league for next season but Glapwell flew out of the traps and had the first chance after only two minutes but Daniel Russell couldn't round off a brilliant run by dragging a shot wide of the post.
But on five minutes, Glapwell were in front as more good play by the lively Russell saw his set a chance up for Jordan Jones who finished well from the edge of the area inside the near post.
More was soon to follow, though, for Glapwell and they brilliantly doubled their lead only two minutes later as again Russell was involved as he played in Josh Scully who brilliantly flicked the ball around a defender before superbly chipping the ball over the keeper and into the top corner from the edge of the area.
The visitors were now in danger of being overrun even at such an early stage but they actually had the next chance of the game on eight minutes with Paul Wilkinson's effort being blocked before Karl Fitzpatrick shot tamely straight at Ryan Hopkins.
But, Glapwell always looked dangerous going forward and they were three goals to the good after 19 minutes with Russell again the architect as he made space for a cross from the right which was headed home by Josh Parfitt from 12 yards out.
Things soon got worse for the visitors as they were forced into a change after only 20 minutes with Ash McKinley forced off through injury.
On the half hour mark Glapwell created two more chances for themselves, the first of which saw Jordan Jones in acres of space down the left but his shot from inside the area was tamely deflected straight into the hands of Charlie Holden.
A great flowing team move then saw Josh Scully find space in the area but his shot was well wide as he jarred his knee whilst getting his shot off, he played no further part in the game as he was replaced by Josh Thomas.
Jordan Jones then saw his powerful effort blocked at the near post before the loose ball fell to Mitchell Mullins 25 yards from goal but his effort was well over the bar.
But, for 10 minutes before half-time the momentum shifted slightly towards the visitors as they had a good spell, firstly good work by skipper Anthony Barnett set up a chance for Paul Wilkinson but he dragged his shot well past the post.
On 41 minutes, though, they got themselves back in it as Glapwell conceded a really cheap goal with a free-kick from just inside the Glapwell half flicked on by Barnett to Brad Bowden who headed the ball over a stranded Hopkins.
They could have given themselves a real chance just before the interval but a goalbound effort from inside the area was crucially, and brilliantly, blocked by Ross Murcott in front of goal.
But Glapwell were relatively comfortable at the break but knew they needed to come out with the same intensity that they started the first half with, and they did.
Firstly, on 49 minutes the advantage really should have been extended again when good build-up play involving Jack Hutchinson and Jordan Jones saw Jones pull the ball back from the right to Josh Parfitt who looped his shot well over the bar from six yards out.
A Jack Hutchinson free-kick from the right was then partially cleared by a defender which struck Adam Barratt's head but flew straight into the grateful hands of Holden.
On 56 minutes, though, Glapwell added a fourth of the afternoon as a short corner, slightly harshly awarded, saw Jack Hutchinson's original shot blocked before he got a second chance and this time he made no mistake as it curled it low into the far corner.
A quick flurry of bookings followed with the visitors, perhaps rightly, aggrieved by a couple of decisions which they felt had gone against them but just after the hour mark Glapwell threatened to run riot with two goals in less than a minute.
Firstly, Ross Murcott's ball over the top to Parfitt brought a heavy touch which luckily fell perfectly for Josh Thomas who crossed the ball back into the middle from the left to Parfitt who headed the ball into the ground and in for his 30th goal of the season.
Then just a minute later, he had the chance of his hat-trick when Jordan Jones played him through but a heavy touch made him rush his shot which was going well off target before it flew into the net off the very unfortunate Jamie Houlton.
With still around half an hour remaining, the visitors must have been fearing a real demolition job but Glapwell did have the chances to add even more to their tally, firstly after Josh Parfitt had been fouled on the edge of the area Adam Barratt hit an effort that was always rising and flew well over the bar.
On 69 minutes, though, it was seven as Daniel Russell brilliantly turned and got a shot in that was brilliantly saved by Charlie Holden but bundled over the line by Josh Thomas with a slight suspicion of handball.
With 15 minutes to go, Glapwell had another couple great chances, the first of which saw Josh Thomas and Daniel Russell play a brilliant one-two on the edge of the area before Thomas' stinging effort brought a fine save out of Charlie Holden.
From the resulting corner, Holden pulled off an even better save as the ball came to Josh Parfitt at the back post and his shot looked every inch like flying into the far corner but the Easington keeper pulled off a sensational diving save to tip the ball behind.
The scoring was soon to be rounded off on 82 minutes when Glapwell were awarded a penalty and the visitors reduced to ten men.
Josh Thomas' run into the area saw him round the keeper before smashing an effort goalwards that was blocked on the line by Easington sub Ben Akam with the ball hitting his hand in the process, the referee awarding the penalty and giving him the subsequent red card.
The sending off was a little harsh on the visitors again but Daniel Russell stepped up and got a well deserved goal, albeit only just, and his spot-kick had just enough power on it to beat Holden who got a strong hand to it.
Ryan Cancellara could have got in on the act in the closing stages with his effort from 25 yards dipping just in front of keeper Holden who did well to push the ball away with the incoming Josh Clayton flagged offside.
But, it could so easily have been nine for Glapwell before the end when another good move saw the ball come to Daniel Russell at the back post but his acrobatic effort clipped the top of the bar and went over.
A job well done, though, for Glapwell who managed to break two club records in the game, the consecutive league games unbeaten (17) and most league goals in a single season (94).
This was also their sixth successive league victory and they remain top of the league by a point from Phoenix albeit with two games in hand while third-placed Harworth Colliery lost ground by being held to a goalless draw at home.
Glapwell now have the next five games at home , which without getting ahead of themselves, can see the league title wrapped up with wins in them all.
The first of which sees Thorne Colliery visit Hall Corner next Saturday with Glapwell still looking for a victory in what would be the tenth meeting between the sides, kick-off 3pm.
Easington, for their part, will leave the CMFL at the end of the season to re-join the HPL and we wish them all the very best for the future, we have had great meetings with them over the seasons and have enjoyed their hospitality on each trip up there.
