Phillips and Halford were appointed at Surrey Street in the summer of 2017 and have guided the team to 11th place in the league, battling a startling injury list as well as our opponents.
The duo informed the GNE board of their intentions to take up the vacant position at Buxton FC in a phone call to Chairman Dave Atkinson on Sunday evening.
Glossop North End will be inviting applications for the management position, details of which will be posted shortly. In the meantime, club coach Mark Canning will take charge of the team for Saturday’s home game vs South Shields.
