George Danaher and Szymon Czubik join The Hillmen

Glossop have completed two signings on deadline day, following the signing of Markell Foulds on Tuesday.

Polish forward Szymon Czubik, 19, joins the club on loan from Stockport County until the end of the season whilst George Danaher joins us from Huddersfield Town on work experience.

Czubik has come through Stockport's academy and joined division rivals Mossley on loan in November 2018. The powerful striker scored six goals in 13 apps this season, scoring just six minutes into his Mossley debut, before he returned to Alan Lord's academy side. Czubik also scored on his County debut.

Before joining Stockport, Czubik had been part of Goole Town's youth side. When Goole Town met Stockport in a friendly, he was invited to join Stockport's academy.

He was rewarded with a pro deal having impressed for Stockport, scoring 22 goals during 12 academy games. Czubik has also featured for Radcliffe where he scored on his debut.

Czubik has been attracting attention from several Football League clubs. Speaking last year, County Boss Jim Gannon told the club's website: "His stats at his peer level are outstanding, and he has already shown the ability to step up to senior football and score regularly.

“Szym always stood out for his appetite, athleticism and ability to affect the game and score goals, but he has embraced all that we do to improve players with real enthusiasm and his attitude has been exemplary."

18 year old, Danaher, born in Stalybridge, has progressed through The Terriers academy after joining from Dukinfield Juniors. The striker has had spells at Liversedge Football Club and most recently Curzon Ashton.
