Great to be back

First game back after six months(hip hip hooray) and with a new formation. After a shaky start and conceding an early goal the under 12s managed to recover and go into half time leading two one. Both first half goals scored by Archie after a great pass from Ajay for our equaliser and second from a rebound after a save from Joe's shot. Second half produced an early goal for GNP from a corner by Archie and a neat finish from Amar. A sudden swing in fortune resulted in Kenilworth some how scoring two quick goals to make it 3:3. Testament to the boys as they went again and were rewarded in the last 13 minutes with goals four and five. Two great corners by Harry and two more goals for Archie. Final Score 5:3. If we had not hit the bar twice, missed a number of chances and denied two penalties would have been a bigger winning margin. Note for training - Need to work on our forward rolls. Glad all the boys enjoyed themselves and there performance merited the win. Special mentions to Karam(first ever game), Ajay(only played once previously), Pravan(debut) and Archie for his four goals(left and right foot and header). Most pleasing thing was after practising our corner routines the day before three out of our five goals came from the corners. Well done to the boys for remembering positions on corner routines. I am sure I can say on behalf of the parents we are all immensely proud of all of you.
