Heavy overnight rain left the pitch heavy underfoot putting Gooles forwards to the test at the breakdowns. Joe Redshaw got the first try of the game on 7 minutes, second try came not long after saw the Younger Walton, Charlie playing alongside his father Dave, crash his way through for the second score of the game. The visitors then came back into the game and picked their way through Gooles defence earning a converted try.

The second half saw the visitors throw everything they had at Goole but only made the home team move up a gear with Redshaw running in his second of the match. Home from University saw Harry Morris run in the next try. David Thornhill scored the next with Walton junior getting his second shortly after. Club stalwart Neil Cawood run the next try in followed by Stuart Head with his first of the season.
