With the 1sts at Wetherby and the 2nd team with no fixture the 3s took centre stage at Westfield on Saturday. The visitors were low on numbers so Goole lent the visitors players to even up the sides. Despite this the hosts surged to a 31 point lead in 20 minutes with some excellent tries before the visitors registered a score as they found some territory and possession. An entertaining game developed from this point, Goole were always in control but the visitors contributed to an excellent match, resulting in some excellent scores, Goole running out 53-19 winners in the game played in excellent spirit throughout, well refereed by James Taylor. Goole’s tries came from cricketer turned try machine Neil Foster with 3 tries, 2 from Joe Clarkson, Kelvin Brook, Dan Walker, Guy Frankland and Joseph Grimbleby added a try each, Grimbleby converting 3 and Foster the final one.
