4. Code of Conduct


Goole Vikings ARLFC Code of Conduct

All RFL clubs have signed up to the RESPECT policy. Every club has the responsibility to ensure that all members abide the RESPECT policy.
Be part of the rugby league team: Coaches, parents and carers, match officials, and all volunteers work hard to provide you with the opportunity to play and enjoy the game in a safe and fun environment:

As a player you agree to:
Play because you want to , not to please your coaches or parents or others.
If anything is worrying you, or you are not enjoying playing, please speak to your parents, the coach or club welfare officer.
Respect and listen to your coach and accept their decisions.
Try your best at all times in training and games.
Let your coach know if you cant make training at least one hour before.
Keep the changing rooms clean and respect your club environment.
Shake hands with the opposition after the game.
Respect other players. Do not retaliate or abuse them, check if they are ok if injured.
Support your team mates, especially if they make a mistake or are feeling down.
Respect the match officials. Respect all decisions.
Do not swear or use abusive language.
Play Fair, don't fight or be a dirty player.
Do not make racist or homophobic or other disrepectful comments.
Do not bully. Report any bullying.
Welcome and encourage new players.
Not use social media to make negative comments, criticise or abuse any player, team, volunteer, club or the game of rugby league.
As a volunteer you agree to:
Abide by all RFL policies and rules including safeguarding.
Report any concerns you observe to a committee member, CWO or RFL.
Conduct yourself in a manner that is in line with the RESPECT policy.
Act as a role model for the club.
Be a good sport, Respect all good play, whether from own team or opposition, whatever the result, and place friendship and respect before competition.
Adhere to the spirit of the game and actively encourage all players and coaches to disassociate themselves from foul play, unsporting behaviour or a “win at all costs” attitude, reporting incidents if they occur.
Treat all users of the club with respect at all times.
Never engage in, or tolerate offensive, insulting, sexist, racist, homophobic or abusive language or behaviour and to use your position to dissuade others associated with or visiting the club from doing so.
Never engage in public criticism of match officials.
Never engage in or tolerate any form of bullying.
Cooperate fully with all others who have a specialist role in the club or in the game (eg officials, physiotherapists, doctors) in the best interests of the club and rugby league.
Keep yourself familiar with the clubs policies and procedures and observe them at all times.
Attend appropriate training for your role within the club, including training on policies and procedures.
Not use social media to make negative comments, criticise or abuse any player, team, volunteer, club or the game of rugby league.
