Prims travelled to Gedling Miners Welfare looking to get back to winning ways after a run of five league games without a win
The game was payed with a strong wind straight down the pitch and Prim played the first half kicking into it.
The first twenty minutes didn’t really see anything happen as Gedling kept going too long with the wind and Prims tried to play football but couldn’t keep hold of the ball. Once Prims settled down and started to move the ball around they created chances but Lee Fell, Micky Fitzhugh, Brandon Gwinnutt couldn’t find the net.
It was Prims that took the lead on thirty five minutes when some good work by Fell gave him some space in the penalty area to fire home.
Neither side for the rest of the half troubled the opposing keeper. So Prims went in at half time up by the odd goal.
In the second half it was the opposite to the first with Gedling playing the football and Prims struggling with the wind behind them. Gedling created the best chances in the first twenty minutes of the half but again didn’t trouble Andy Fretwell in the Prims goal. A bit against the run of play Prims increased their lead. A corner from Fitzhugh saw Fell rise in the penalty area to head home.
The two goal lead didn’t last long as Corrigan scored after the some good build up play after a quick free kick. This gave the home crowd something to cheer about, but Prims regained their two goal lead within three minutes. Prims were awarded a free kick forty yards out after a foul on Fitzhugh. Kial Thurman took the free kick with pace and as Dwayne Brown went to clear he could only deflect the ball off his head into his own net.
The final fifteen minutes were played out with no further chances.
