Christmas win for 3rd XV

Great Yarmouth - Broadland 3rd XV – 10
Wymondham 3rd XV – 5

On a warm, dry day at Great Yarmout - Broadland, Wymondham came to give their all in a mid table battle. Nathan Cocking had a strong debut for the club.

Great Yarmouth started brightly with strong running from Stacey Ledgerwood and Joel Allard taking them up the pitch. In defence, big hits from Jay Pollard, Ant Payne and John Graham kept Wymondhams attack in check. Ed Dixon went on a terrorising run to open the scoring for the home side. Phil Green, Wayne Gibbs and Sam Blizzard put in a big effort keeping the opposition forwards quiet, the visitors a scored a try just before half time. Leaving the half time score 5 -5

Broadland made a number of replacements throughout the second half, without damaging the cohesiveness of the attacking unit, with Jimmy Dwyer and Kevin Collings (MOM) being constant nuisances at the breakdowns. After strong running from Australian import, Andrew Flett and good generalship from Captain Mickey Pywell, they won a lineout at Wymonham’s 22 meter line. Great work from the forwards moved the ball forward, which led to a try for Ant Payne. Lewis Graham and Tam Swift came on to freshen up the defensive legs and the game was seen out with Great Yarouth – Broadland winning 10 - 5
