Ruthless Glebe Punish The Borough

We travelled across the A20 to Chislehurst to take on Glebe in the SCEFL Premier league, after last weeks positive performance we needed to keep the momentum to give us a chance to climb the league table.

Greenwich Borough had 1 new addition right back AJ who we welcome to the club he replaces Veejay Miller who is unavailable.

My initial view of their pitch looked fine from a distance however on closer inspection it was very wet and heavy!!!after some heavy overnight rain. Not the best surface to play pretty football.

We started well for the first 4 minutes until an error from Sam Fitzgerald allowed Glebe to score to make it 1-0.

Constant pressure from Glebe resulted in another goal after 14 minutes a Glebe shot from the edge make its 2-0.

I have to say Glebe do play some nice 1 touch football which has been their strength today we can't seem to get close to them

We have started to come into the game now Alex Nelson and Stephen Ita probing with some decent passes,goal to Greenwich Borough some good work from skipper Nelson to assist Malik ouani with a deadly finish on 35 minutes to make it 2-1 could Borough stage a comeback.

Some sustained pressure from Glebe allows a cross to come in and the Borough defence is caught flat footed phillpot with a good header to make it 3-1 Glebe on 37 minutes our comeback didn't last very long!!!!!

Second half the tempo has been upped by both teams we need to get bodies in the box when we attack,Glebe have some sustained pressure and from a whipped in cross from the left they get lucky with an own goal from Fitzgerald 4-1 Glebe on 56 minutes.

We make a substitution Arthur of for Fred Obasa,The game restarts with Glebe in the comfort zone now being 4-1 up we get a respite with fred obasa with a peach of a delivery in the box but malik ouani cant connect we make another substitution aj of for Callum on 80 minutes.

Another poor clearance from the Borough defence allows the Glebe striker to put the burners on round Daniel mamas and score Glebe 5th goal on 79 minutes thats game over for me!!!!

We make one last sub Sam Fitzgerald of for Hermes its not been big Sam's best game and overall a poor defensive performance from the Borough team as a whole.

Just when I thought it wouldn't or couldn't get any worse they score 6 on the stroke of full time......another disappointing result for the Borough.
