Allrounder's Effort and Endeavour Push Albion All the Way

Keighley Albion stepped forward as Greetland's latest visitors in a rematch which saw a 14 point swing to Albion at the start of the season. Things would be different this time around, however, as this improving Greetland side continued to build on the momentum following some outstanding recent training sessions.

Greetland started well, showing defiance in defence and preventing Albion’s large pack from breaking through. In attack, Greetland looked sharp – Issy Murray was the first to break through, latching on to a great pass from Joe to race to the corner to put the first points on the board. There were some excellent skills on show from both sides. Strong running and offloads allowed Greetland to keep up with Keighley and be rewarded for their hard work. As ever, Lil’s familiar dancing feet coupled with strong running from Ellis gained some valuable yards and left Maddie with the simple task of diving over in the corner to add to Greetland's tally.

Karl, who seems to get better every week, was putting in a great shift, controlling the game and organising his team mates. Following a strong defensive spell, with Sam standing firm and blocking the opposition, Maddie bowled over a beleaguered defense to allow Joe to get over and even things up. Soon after, Greetland went over again as Maddie stretched across the line to sneak a try to make sure they were still in the game at half time..

Keighley are a big side but no one was taking a back seat. Ellis was getting stuck in bring down their biggest players, Jack and Issy were leading by example to ensure that the score they kept Albion out, but an adjustment in personnel gave them the upper hand as Greetland's concentration wavered..

Lil had other ideas though, showing off her mature rugby brain to step round the defense and pass a long ball out to Joe who passed again to Jack who sprinted down the wing to go over in what was the move of the game..

In the end, Keighley proved just too strong for Greetland, but yet again Greetland could leave the pitch with their heads held high following a strong, determined and much improved performance.
