Gresford emerged from a stormy afternoon in the Cymru North with all three points after a dramatic 2-3 victory away at Denbigh, in a game that summed up everything about this level of football - quality, resilience, character and heart.

Played in dreadful conditions, with driving rain making any sort of rhythm difficult, this was a contest that demanded far more than just technical ability. From the first whistle it was clear that both sides would have to dig deep and credit must go to our lads for doing exactly that.

We started the game positively and were rewarded with a moment of pure brilliance to open the scoring. Toby produced an unbelievable strike that left the keep with no chance and settled Gresford into the game. Denbigh, to their credit responded well and asked questions, forcing us to defend with discipline and fight for every ball. The hosts found a goal but the response from the Gresford lads was excellent. Jake Roberts hit an audacious free kick and put us back in the lead at 1-2.

The game swung back on forth and Denbigh managed another equaliser, setting up a tense finish. In the last minute, captain Paul Johnson stepped up and secured the points scoring a dramatic winner. Special mention to young Sam Bryan who made an impressive debut, showing maturity beyond his years. Three huge points won the hard way!
