Gresford Athletic suffer a big defeat at the hands of Llandudno away from home in Round Two of the 2025/26 Nathaniel MG Cup on Saturday.

The game started disastrously for The Colliers, as Llandudno took an early lead in the ninth minute through Mark Cadwallader's header.

Jake Roberts almost found an equaliser for Gresford Athletic, but his 17th-minute free-kick hit the goalpost.

Lewis Dutton is forced into a good save to stop Adam Stephens' effort in the 22nd minute.

Then, in the 42nd minute, Mark Cadwallader found his and Llandudno's second goal of the game.

Frustration arose right before the break, as First Team Manager Eddie Maurice-Jones was shown a red card in the 44th minute for arguing with Referee Rhys Parry.

The second 45 minutes began in much similar fashion to the first, with Llandudno making it three early on into the half through Adam Stephens in the 50th minute.

Then, in the 52nd minute, Llandudno added a fourth following a scramble in the box, with Tom Stephens claiming the goal.

Callum Stephens made it five in the 57th minute, as The Seasiders completely ran away with it.

Mark Winslade was then unfortunately substituted off with a bad injury in the 69th minute, with Sam Bryan replacing him. Speedy recovery, Wins!

Things went from bad to worse in the 72nd minute, as Paul Johnson was shown a straight red card, leaving The Colliers with 10 men.

Llandudno made the extra man count and added a sixth goal in the 74th minute, as Mark Cadwallader bagged his hat-trick.

Then, in the 79th minute, Lewis Dutton pulled off another good save to avoid a seventh goal.

However, Llandudno did find the seventh, as Kieran Smith scored for The Seasiders in the second minute of added time to finish off the game.

Gresford Athletic exit the 2025/26 Nathaniel MG Cup after a result that they need to forget and move on from quickly.
