Grimsby Corinthians are hosting the first ever LinxWF Community Charity Shield. The event will see players from all over Lincolnshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire attending at the Bradley Football Centre to battle it out for the Shield.
Managers were appointed to select regional representative sides and all clubs in Lincolnshire were asked to put forward names for selection at both over 50 and over 60 age groups.
All regions are now well on with their selection processes and although some clubs didn't respond or chose not to put players forward their is a tremendous cross section of players coming from all corners of the county with many clubs being represented.
Clubs known to have players selected include:
Boston United, Stamford Strollers, Sleaford Academicals, North Hykeham Hedgehogs, Ruston Sports, Long Bennington, Louth Town Walkers, Gainsborough Trinity, Grimsby Corinthians, Scunthorpe Pods, Wolds Wanderers, Grimsby Ancient Mariners and others as well. A massive thank you to the managers and all the players coming forward to play.
They will be supported as well by our friends from North of the Humber with sides being made up of players from Cottingham , Hull Pacemakers and Hornsea Town, Thanks to you guys as well.
The most important thing though is that it is all for charity and we are looking to raise as much as we can for Dementia UK and donations can be made at our Just Giving Page
Please support us if you can.
Spectators welcome on the day Tuesday March 19th with games commencing at 1030
