With Treacher and Lewis Dyson missing, Grimsby had to draft in Jordan Hollington for only his second game of the season and the fly half position was filled by U16 Carwyn Hooley who performed well. Also Ross Grant was dragged out of retirement to play his first game of the season. Grimsby started well and went ahead 11-0 at half time with two penalties from Lewis Rothenburg and a try from Hollington set up by Grant. In the second half Bakewell fought back to take the lead 13-11. For the last 10 minutes Bakewell fought hard to retain their lead but the Blues just couldn't get the break through. The result was a bitter blow to what has been an excellent season for the U17s who have performed well not only at this level but at U19s as well. However they can feel proud of themselves putting three trophies in the cabinet this season.
