With players dropping out and not being able to field an U17s and Colts team in the NLD sevens tournament at Sleaford, we ended up scrammbling one colts team together. This saw us dragging Ross Grant out of retirement for the second time this season and Brad Treacher coming home on leave from the army. After difficult matches against a strong Paviors (7-33 try & con by Rendall_Tyrrell) and Scunthorpe (19-28 tries by Cowper, Rendall-Tyrrell and Austin-Thomas) Grimsby found themselves in the plate final after a fine win against Sleaford 31-17 with tries from Cowper, Treacher, Rothenburg & Grant. Despite the defeat by Paviors this was a good performance as we were the only team not concede nearly 50 points against them. The final saw a rematch against Long Eaton with us coming out on top in a very good close fought match. Cowper, Treacher, Fleming & Grant scoring the tries to give the colts a 26-19 win and their second trophy of the season.
