PRATT OUT, RANG BACK
AFTER the resounding victory over Havant Ladies at the weekend.
Guernsey Ladies head off to Windsor tomorrow for their penultimate game of the South East West One season.
Lucy Pratt is out injured but with Vicki Rang returning it is another strong group who fly off in search of maximum points.
GLR are aiming to finish the league season in style, gunning for two more victories in the remaining games against Windsor and Rosslyn Park but they are not becoming complacent with the coaching team driving them hard to polish skills and fine tune the systems that have been introduced this season.
Players that had never set foot on a rugby pitch last season have inked their names on the team sheet and continue to surprise each week, Aimee Le Bachelet’s 7 out of 8 conversions last week and a prop, Laura Sweeney, intercepting in the 9-10 channel to set up a try a couple of phases later.
They have been complemented by the old heads in the team like Ellie Whittles and Kristine Vavere and even though there were some aching bodies after the game against Havant, everyone is itching to get back to playing again this weekend.
If GLR can continue to play the high tempo attacking rugby and the pressure defence that proved so successful last weekend then another away victory must be on the cards.
Availability has had some impact on the squad but the developing strength in depth of the ladies squad this season hopefully means that GLR can maintain their momentum.
Windsor are not going to roll over and gift us the victory, a hard fought 15-6 home win saw GLR challenged all the way to the final whistle but hopefully GLR can consolidate their recent form with another away win.
