Very many thanks to all who have responded to our Club survey - I’m told this response level benchmarks well against similar Clubs.

Very many thanks to all who have responded to our Club survey - I’m told this response level benchmarks well against similar Clubs. Also, thank you to Heather Styche-Patel who gave us valuable time and expertise to ensure we did this exercise properly.

A summary of the findings is attached and has been extremely helpful for our planning. Our ambition now is to move the 40% of you who are ‘fairly satisfied’ with the Club to join the 49% of those who are ‘very satisfied/completely satisfied’ and also move the 68% of you who would ‘probably recommend’ the Club to others towards the 22% who ‘definitely would’.

We are, first and foremost, a cricket club but we also want to significantly increase the Social activity available for all members. 68% of you told us that our coaching was the best thing about the Club (a good result) but we also get the message loud and clear that this has to improve year on year because it is why you joined GCC.

Second and third areas selected as improvement priorities are match preparation (60% rated as good currently) and friendliness between club members/players (75% rated as good currently) - both firmly taken on board.

We now have a number of initiatives underway, all of which your Committee hope reflects the requests you have made;

1) We are in the final stages of employing an individual who can lead the overall design and delivery of coaching, to include match preparation, at all levels of the Club. This will be a significant long term investment for the Club.

2) Our Cricket Committee is now fully representative of the Club as a whole with membership drawn from the Women's, Juniors' and Men's sections - not just the Men's section, as previously. One of the priorities for the Committee is to help Juniors integrate easily into Senior cricket.

3) We will significantly increase all Communications to members by way of regular newsletters and increased social media activity.

4) We have re-formed our Social Committee with representation from across the Club and they are planning to publicise events for next year very soon.

5) We are planning to significantly grow the Women's game at Guildford and have just started a new five year project to do this working with Surrey CCC.

6) We are always looking for new Volunteers to help us do all the things we would like to do at the Club. Very many thanks to the thirty nine of you who have indicated your interest in doing more - we’re getting in touch now - and thanks again to all of you who already are.

I hope you find this helpful and encouraging - please continue to get in touch with your ideas as to how we can continually improve the Club for you - our members.

Thank you,

James Geffen
Chairman
