Guildford Cricket Week was a great success; after some dodgy weather on the Monday, the sun came out and provided some exciting cricket and showcased the depth of talent at the club. Huge thanks go to Tim Walter for organising!

The six-a-side tournament went down well, the highlight coming in the second match, when Stokes’ Guns (captained by Jaedyn Bartosh-Short) managed to run out four of their players in the first 10 balls of their innings, two of whom hadn’t faced a ball!

On the Wednesday, the 1st XI narrowly lost to The Wanderers CC despite 73 from captain Tom Collins and four wickets from Olly Birts.

Thursday, against Surrey University Old Boys saw another narrow defeat for Guildford by 3 wickets. Top performers were Ben Garrett with 54 and Malorie Short returning figures of 4-27 from her 14 overs. With several Guildford players representing the opposition, there was plenty of chat (good-natured!) out in the middle.

Friday’s Junior Day saw a great demonstration of the young talent at the club, with all age groups from U9 right up to U15 playing.

Details for next year’s Guildford Cricket Week will be released early next year.
