Guildford CC U14s vs Woking & Horsell CC U14s (Friendly 25 over)

On the late August bank holiday Monday, the U15s and U14s had back to back games on the main square at Woodbridge Road, giving every available U14s year group player the opportunity to play in one final game.

The U14s won the toss against Woking & Horsell, and elected to bat first.

This was the age group's first opportunity to play on a central strip on the main square.

In reply, Guildford got off to a flyer with 2 wickets falling in the first over.
Firstly a caught and bowled from Archie Collins, followed by a run out well taken by Oliver Horne and James Colby (wicket-keeper).
Ultimately 3 bowlers chipped in with 2 wickets apiece - Archie Collins (2-2-0-2), Alex Challinor (3-1-4-2) and Niko Dahl (3-0-3-2).
One wicket each for Dulain Jayakody, Oliver Horne, and Cameron Sim.
2 catches from Dulain Jayakody (including a caught and bowled).
A good all round bowling performance from Guildford restricted Woking & Horsell to 68 all out.

Guildford won by 77 runs.

In 6 weeks and one day of fixtures, the U14s competed in 17 competitive matches resulting in 12 wins (71%), 1 tie and 4 losses.
