After the scorching weather on the Saturday, it was the turn of the Grizzlies to travel up to Ashford on the Sunday against the Ashford Jets t20 team. With low flying air traffic from the immensely close Heathrow Airport, Rav Garcha and the opposing captain ventured to the middle for the toss. Having lost the toss.....again!....the opposition elected to bat first. Opening the bowling was Jon Burrowes and Harry Foster, who have seemed to form a formidable partnership as opening bowlers, with Jon picking up 1 wicket from his 4 over stint. Wickets came from Cameron Green with figures of 4 overs 2-26, with Prithvi Ramesh picking one wicket up and also skipper Rav Garcha with one. Tight bowling and fielding meant the opposition were restricted to 121-6 after 20 overs, off a decent batting wicket and a lightning fast outfield. Opening the batting was Matthew Stephenson and Oscar Martin, with Oscar hitting a 4 and a 6 off his first too balls faced. Together they put on a stunning partnership with Matthew out for 48 and Oscar out for 33. A mini collapse and some questionable shots from Dylan Lawson meant there was a little wobble with only 1 run to get, however Harry Relph finished the game by hitting a quick single into the covers. Overall another emphatic victory for the Grizzlies and remaining top of both the midweek and Sunday slam league.
