Gresford Athletic 0 Guilsfield 2

Guilsfield secured 3 away points with this hard fought win at Gresford.

Guilsfield went into the game without Robbie James (unavailable) and Adam Jenkins (suspended) and started with both youngsters, James Parry and Aaron Lloyd making the teamsheet.

Guilsfield began brightly but the first real chance didn't materialise until the 22nd minute when Adam Davies' curled free kick went just wide. Further Guilsfield pressure led to the Guils taking the lead on 24 mins against their under-strength hosts when a corner failed to be cleared and Sam Litchfield smashed the loose ball into the net. 10 mins later and another Davies free kick on the edge of the box resulted in Ben Jones pulling off a smart save.

The second half was a dour and niggly affair with Gresford trying to build up some pressure but without producing the final ball. Litchfield and Ford were the solid wall at the back, together with Mike Jones' experience keeping the home side at bay. Another Davies free kick on 66 mins was tipped over by the Gresford No1.

The best move of the game came late on, with 86 mins on the clock a tidy move down the left between Jack Richards and Davies led to Harries forcing a good save form Jones. Guilsfield killed the game off in the 3rd min of injury time with Davies firing home another free kick to secure the 3 points. Full time 0-2.
