Penrhyncoch 1 Guilsfield 3 Guilsfield Res 3 Llanrhaeadr Res 2

Guilsfield travelled to West Wales looking for an away victory following the 6-1 thumping of Llanfair last weekend. Robbie James was ruled out for the game and George Clifton was still sidelined with a foot injury.
The game began briskly with Guilsfield playing down the slope, taking the game to their hosts. On 5 mins, Chris Cathrall's throw led to Adam Davies firing a great near post volley which produced good reactions from Jenkins in the Roosters' goal. The visitors led on 20 mins after a great move between Jake Cook and Davies, which released Sam Litchfield to fire home. Cook then took on the Penrhyn defence again on 23 mins and finished with a long range strike which forced the keeper to tip over. Guils should have doubled the lead on 27 mins but Davies couldn't finish when one on one with the keeper. On 35 mins Davies volleyed again to produce a smart near post save. (HT 0-1)
The second period saw Guilsfield in control again and two Cathrall long throws within a minute early in the half saw Penrhyn scrambling the ball clear. Following a corner on 62 mins a clear handball offence led to Davies firing home from the spot to double the lead. Guilsfield got their third goal on 70 mins with the best move of the game with Davies providing Cook with a great through ball, who duly rounded the keeper and tapped the ball into the empty net.
Penrhyncoch fought back with their first strike on target leading to a goal on 71 mins from Evans. The home side looked like they were building momentum but the visitors held firm to take home the three points.

Team: Jones, Bromley, Richards, Rogers, Litchfield, Ford, Cook, Harries, Davies, Blenkinsop, Cathrall. Subs: Jenkins (Cook), Parry (Blenkinsop).

Meanwhile, our Reserves got the better of Llanrhaeadr in a top of the table clash in the Montgomeryshire League with a 3-2 win, with Danny Barton netting a brace and Harry Clifton also on target to continue the unbeaten run.
