Guilsfield suffered its 5th home defeat of the season with this narrow loss versus Denbigh Town.
Guilsfield welcomed back Robbie James into the line-up but went into the match without the influential Andy Ford. Both James Parry and Aaron Lloyd returned to the squad, having spent the week with the Welsh under 18s. Both lads played back to back matches versus the Republic of Ireland.
The match was dominated by the strong wind leading to a game of two halves, with Guilsfield unable to take advantage of the wind at their backs in the first period. Two good chances failed to find the target and these misses proved costly when Denbigh took the lead two minutes after the break. Pearce looked offside when breaking through to beat the advancing Mike Jones and the striker's header crept over the line despite a valiant effort by Callum Bromley to clear.
Guilsfield produced a flat, disjointed performance which played into the hands of the determined visitors.
Team: Jones, Bromley, Parry, Rogers, Litchfield, James, Cook, Cathrall, Blenkinsop, Jenkins, Richards. Subs: Clifton, Lloyd, Leonard.
