Junction 2-2 Gwalchmai

In one of only 2 games played in the division today Junction looked to add another 3 points to their impressive start to the campaign.

Junction started slow and failed to play the type of football they had in previous weeks which began to frustrate some of the players. Gwalch were comfortable at the back and looked to play sharp and effective counter attacking football.

It was Gwalch who took the lead on 28 minutes when Junior Spice Cameron headed in from a long cross field ball by Kieran Lewis following some good work by Bennett.

.Junction's troubles were worsened a couple of moments later when Rob Marshall Jones was shown a second yellow card from referee Peter Kewley.

The home side battled on with 10 men and Bryan Roberts was unlucky not to bring his side level just before the break.

Half Time Junction 0-1 Gwlachmai

The Railwaymen came out looking a lot more organised and began to put some immense pressure on the Gwalch goal, an equaliser looked imminent. On 57 minutes Ricky Jones was through on goal after a lucky deflection and made no mistake in levelling.

The game had turned almost one sided now and it looked more like the visitors had been reduced to 10 rather than Junction. However, on 64 minutes a lapse in concentration between Sam Sinkinson and Brad Jones allowed Kieran again into the Junction area, he unselfishly squared the ball for Mark Griffiths to restore the Gwalch lead against the run of play.

Junction pressed and pressed to equalise for the second time and their hard work was paid off, Ellis meeting a cross from Bryan Roberts at the near post and firing in on the 82nd minute.

The home side were not finished and were determined to press for the winner, Chris Beardmore (Burgess lookalike) was introduced which saw 3 strikers on the field in a desperate attempt to get the winner, this left gaps at the back and the risk almost punished Junction but for a fine save to prevent Corey Sinnott from getting on 85 minutes.

In the last attack of the 90 minutes Brad Jones darted into the box and dived which looked almost certain to be a penalty but referee Kewley adjudged the defender to have played the ball before the man.

Into stoppage time and Junction were given a chance to win it with a free kick on the edge of the area, Roberts stepped up but saw his effort creep over the bar.
