On a wet, and seriously cold morning at West Haddon, the under 11’s managed to get a game in against St Crispins B. Perhaps foolishly, or we can admire their determination and enjoyment of playing the game!

Archie captaining the side in the absence of Daniel Balliston, lost the toss for the first time this season. After much deliberation WH & G were inserted into bat.

David and Daniel put on 21, despite Daniel getting out to a sharp catch at square leg.

George and Charlie played some nice attacking shots, thankfully a little more text book! Charlie finished on 10 not out and George 12 not out.

Archie then partnering Ethan also put plenty of runs on the board, with lots of extras, although Ethan was bowled by Callum who enjoyed his success somewhat! Archie also making 12 not out.

Last pair of James and Henry went about rattling on the scoreboard, and James finished 10 not out and Henry 4 not out, as WH & G closed on 123 for 2 (113 net).

In response St Crispins made 58 for 7, with both Henry Edmonds and Archie H oughton excelling with the ball, both being on a hat tricks although not successful obtaining them. WH & G applied the pressure with good catches from James and Henry. George struck first, and Ethan enjoyed taking a wicket…….

St Crispins finished on 58 for 7 and a comfortable win for WH & G. At last a return to winning ways.

MOTM – Archie Houghton followed by Henry Edmonds. All did well, Brixworth next week!
